I’m Mike Nugent—a lifelong Missoulian, UM alum, Ward 4 Councilman, husband, and proud dad to James and Hannah. Staci and I are raising our family in a community shaped by Missoula’s natural beauty, shared opportunity, and the support of neighbors. Every day, I work to try and make local government deliver solutions that help everyday Missoulians—especially on issues like affordable housing. Some days are more successful than others, but showing up every day and consistently pushing forward is my promise to you. 

As a small business owner, I understand the tough choices families and entrepreneurs make, from tracking a household budget, managing costs, to keeping doors open and employees paid. Growth presents both challenges and opportunities, so my priorities include building public-private partnerships and supporting development that strengthens families, protects our environment, and preserves what makes Missoula unique. I’ll always be honest about what city government can realistically achieve, and push back against misinformation that offers false promises.

It’s vital to listen to every voice—progress must never come at the expense of real people’s lives. The best future for Missoula depends on thoughtful consensus and honest engagement with big issues.
